A Puppy Pathway

Introducing iPad for learning requires some careful planning.  Helping young children to understand their rights and responsibilities when it comes to digital devices creates a solid foundation for skills that will last a lifetime.  Start the journey with your learners using the Oakley pathway.  Children learn with Oakley how to look after not just the iPad but their own wellbeing too, all through interactive stories with linked resources.

What next?

The Oakley pathway comes with a range of resources to help you and your little learners get the most from iPad. We've created a range of 'Grab and Go' activities you can try in your class or playroom. Please click here to download 6 activities you can use in class or at home today or take a look here to explore them one by one.

All Midlothian schools have also received Oakley's School Bag, packed with even more resources and help guides, such as a Seesaw template for sharing learning with home and a story activity guide.

Moving On: Oakley meets Mid Mouse

At the end of P1, children can use all they have learned about iPad to create a book about Primary One, perfect for sharing with their friends in ELC who might be starting P1 soon. Mid Mouse is a also a good friend to the ELC children. Perhaps Mid Mouse and Oakley will learn about P1 together!

Teachers can find the resources for creating a transition book here.

An example of a completed book is available here.
